David, a native of Dothan, Alabama, is a graduate of Dothan High School, Auburn University Montgomery, and Asbury Theological Seminary. Before entering full-time ministry, he gained experience in a variety of professions, including retail management, law enforcement, and healthcare. In his early thirties, David came to faith in Christ and sensed a clear call to pulpit ministry. This led him to pursue theological training, earning a Master of Divinity degree in 2006.
David began serving in pastoral ministry in 1999 and faithfully pastored congregations within the United Methodist Church for more than two decades in Newton, Dothan, and Demopolis, Alabama. He came on board as Senior Pastor here at Forest Park in 2019. In 2023, he and his current congregation discerned God’s leading to step away from the United Methodist denomination and continue as a non-denominational church, where he continues to serve as pastor here in Panama City, Florida.
The youngest of four brothers, David is the father of Sam (born 1998) and stepfather to Christopher (born 1989). Away from ministry, he enjoys building scale models, exploring technology, and reading history; interests that reflect his self-professed “nerdy” side.
Through years of ministry, David has come to embrace both humility and grace, recognizing his own limitations while resting in Christ’s boundless love. His deepest passion is to help others discover that same transforming love of Jesus Christ, a love that is unrelenting, personal, and life-changing.
